In pursuit of a nerdy goal to own custom-made, vintage-style action figures of all 15 pilots of Vehicle Team Voltron, I’ve been scrutinizing the pilot uniforms. The images in this blog entry were copied from the Voltron website of “SGB,” with the permission of the site’s author.

The pilot uniform, which doubles as a flight suit, consists of the following components:

• Jumpsuit – Styled similarly to the two-piece uniforms of officers such as Commander Hawkins and Sky Marshall Graham. The only insignia on the uniform is a simplified version of the Galaxy Alliance chevron that is positioned on each shoulder. The uniform has two yellow ribs at each shoulder, and six seemingly only decorative buttons on the chest.
• Boots
• Belt – Has a yellow, rectangular buckle. Also has a boxy structure (probably a small storage pouch) at each side.
• Gloves – Normally worn only when the pilot is operating his or her vehicle.
• Helmet – Normally worn only when the pilot is operating his or her vehicle. Has a blue-green-tinted visor.

The uniform design seems to be identical for both the male and female Voltron pilots. The images below show the front and back of the uniform.

Each of the three sub-teams — Air Team, Sea Team and  Land Team — has a distinct color scheme for its pilots’ uniforms. The images below show the uniforms of each sub-team, except for the gloves and helmets.

Air Team

The jumpsuit is white with medium blue shoulders, collar, wrist cuffs and vertical stripe down each side of the torso and leg. The jumpsuit’s decorative buttons are gray. The boots are light blue at the bottom and medium blue trim at the top. The belt is brown. The gloves are white. The helmets are white with medium blue highlights.

Sea Team

The jumpsuit is light blue with black shoulders, collar and vertical stripe down each side of the torso and leg. The jumpsuit’s wrist cuffs are white,  and its decorative buttons are gray. The boots are white at the bottom and black at the top. The belt is white. The gloves are light blue. The helmets are light blue with black highlights.

Land Team

The jumpsuit is red with white shoulders, collar, wrist cuffs and vertical stripe down each side of the torso and leg. The jumpsuit’s decorative buttons are white. The boots are black at the bottom and white at the top. The belt is light gray. The gloves are red. The helmets are red with white highlights.

On rare occasion the Voltron Vehicle Team pilots use a hand weapon. Where the weapon is stowed when not in use is a bit of a mystery, but below are images that feature the hand weapon:
